Pudding Monsters is the new game from ZeptoLab that has the physical mechanics of fun figured out, it's just the content that needs work.

Don’t let our slight concerns over the difficulty dissuade you – Pudding Monsters is a great little game. It might not be the next Cut the Rope (sliding puzzles are too familiar to provide that “WOW!” moment that a unique experience like Cut did) – but it doesn’t need to be the next Cut the Rope. It just needs to be a fun little puzzle game that’s well worth the price of admission. And when looked at in that light, Pudding Monsters is downright delicious.

Pudding Monsters doesn’t quite stack up to the great App Store puzzlers like Cut the Rope or Where’s My Water, but it’s still a pleasant and diverting puzzler with plenty of charm and polish. Gamers with a few minutes to kill will appreciate the bite-sized nature of the stages and the frequent introduction of new gameplay twists. Hopefully Zeptolab is cooking up a set of ultra-tough stages to challenge the community of mobile gaming puzzle veterans it helped create with its previous hit.

Pudding Monsters is cute, creative, and eminently playable. But it's a bit too familiar, and a bit too easy, to be a truly essential puzzler

Take that and a list of well-curated Game Center achievements and you'll probably be able to get a couple hours of fun out of the game. They probably won't be the most satisfying, but it'll be good, gooey fun. Though the puddings themselves would object to this characterization, think of Pudding Monsters as a tasty snack—it might not keep you fed for long, but it'll get you through a break or two. ZeptoLab has executed the recipe beautifully; it's just too bad it was rather bland from the start.

Hundreds follows in the footsteps of one of the earliest genres to hit it big on smartphones, the bubble grower. Players tap on-screen bubbles to make them grow, causing a counter on the bubble to grow with it. At the core, the goal in each stage is to have all bubbles on the screen to add up to 100. However, things quickly get more complicated as linked bubbles, saw blades, ice and a wide variety of obstacles are introduced across 100 of the most challenging levels to yet grace an iOS game.
