Secret Files: Sam Peters

In this spin-off to Secret Files / Geheimakte series, a player experiences the adventures of Sam Peters, a blond reporter of "Uncharted" magazine. The game starts with her escape from a volcanic eruption on an Indonesian island, which took place in Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis. On her arrival to mainland, she understands that her boss still needs a sensational story for the magazine, so Sam tries to find out more info on scientific researches of certain German professor. Visiting Berlin after that, Sam travels to Ghana. Professor has discovered changes in the genetic codes of aquatic animals in Lake Bosumtwi formed over a million years ago through the impact of a meteor. Meanwhile, strange creatures appear in the legends of the Ashanti people in Ghana. These tell of human-like creatures that lurk in the trees at night and take their victims off to their caves to suck their blood: the Asanbosam. Sam discovers that scientific expedition has disappeared along with professor. The player's task is to help Sam solve this mystery.

The game keeps the mechanics of the previous entries in the series. It is a traditional point-n-click adventure game flown in 3rd person perspective view. Player uses two mouse button clicks - to see at and to interact with an object highlighted on the screen with a hotspot. Certain locations and different puzzles are seen in 1st person perspective view.

The game plot is linear with two possible endings proposed as a choice at the very end of the game.
