EA Sports' last Formula One racing instalment for a 10-year old PC!

The Good
As a further improvement to the EA Sports F1 2000 I played in my childhood, this 2002 season is the last of the licensees of the EA Sports Formula One series until 2010 when Code Masters acquired the license for updated Windows versions of the Formula One instalments. The difference between the 2000 and 2002 seasons that I played is that this one has a major improvement in the graphics, with screen resolutions up to 1080P HD. Also in this season, the improved physics will take time to get used to for the beginner driver.

Both the 2000 and 2002 seasons I played were developed by Image Space, and the announcer and pit crew voices have British accents in the game because the Formula One racing originated in Europe and had become international with its open-wheeled race cars and the Formula One races appeared on TV all around the world.

If you want to get the full experience of a Formula One race car, a racing wheel controller is recommended, because using the keyboard would make those sharp turns difficult to turn! Get it?

Let me tell you, Formula One racing is tough! There are sharp twists and turns that you got to be careful with... unless you enable some driving assistance options, it could make the game a little easier to play!

The Bad
It does not work for me on my Acer Aspire 5552 laptop running Windows 10 64-bit, because the game would not launch on that particular operating system because it is too new! However, I managed to get it working on an HP DX5150 SFF running Windows XP Professional SP3 and it worked great! It only works on Windows XP, but on the latest versions of Windows, it just doesn't cut it!

The Bottom Line
This is the last of EA Sports' Formula One Racing licensees that will work on an old computer from the year 2007 running Windows XP. If your computer has a 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM and that one doesn't handle Code Masters' latest instalments of the Formula One Racing licensees, then this is the one to check it out on! As I said before, the game is tough! But once you get used to it, you'll know what I mean! Highly recommended!
