Honestly, it's hard to think of complaints to levy against Yoshi's Woolly World. The in-stage amiibo functionality, which lets you tap a Yoshi amiibo to the Wii U Gamepad in order to control two Yoshis at once, is as difficult to utilize as it sounds, but it just seems so insignificant to the game as a whole that it's not really worth complaining about. (The other amiibo finality, which lets you use Yoshis themed after various characters, is in fact quite awesome.) The music's really bland, too – not offensive, just kind of tolerable. Really, the worst sin of Woolly World might be that it's still not quite as amazing as Yoshi's Island was. Even so, a few rungs below “all-time gaming classic” is still “really, really good,” and after twenty years of half-hearted attempts to repackage the Yoshi's Island magic, it's an utter delight to actually enjoy a Yoshi game again.

Yoshi’s Woolly World is classic platforming gameplay, oozing with charm and cuteness, rolled into a perfectly formed woolly ball. While the gameplay may struggle to offer anything new to the genre, it is delightful to play thanks to the sumptuous visuals and the charisma of these heroic dinosaurs. Nintendo make the best platform games, and Yoshi’s Woolly World is easily one of the best.
Jul 8th, 2015 · Wii U · read reviewDespite the odd frustration, Yoshi’s Woolly World is an incredibly fun romp. It has been a long time since the world got to see a console Yoshi game, and the fact it hearkens back to its SNES roots better than the recent handheld attempt is a joy to behold. This is one of the best platformers I have played in a long time.

Yoshi's Woolly World is a tough game to put down with its masterful gameplay, phenomenal presentation, and impressive amount of extra content. Although it's not as awesome as the timeless classic Yoshi's Island, this is definitely the next best thing.

„Yoshi’s Woolly World“ ist eines dieser Spiele, die sehr lange Zeit in Erinnerung bleiben: tolle HD-Grafik bei eingängiger Musik, ein gelungenes Leveldesign mit kreativen Abschnitten und herzerwärmende Spielfiguren, mit denen jeder Spieler einfach mitfiebern muss.

A creative and charming world was created for Yoshi’s woolly adventure, the cloth and craft materials that built the world also coming up as plenty of interesting level gimmicks and game mechanics to take the ball-throwing platforming to new and interesting places. Yoshi’s Woolly World crafts lovely levels that will please younger players and challenge those looking to get all the collectables thanks to strong fundamentals enhanced through the flexible difficulty options, but this delightful adventure isn’t all happy music and cute visuals. The boss recycling and straightforward designs of the transformation segments let down the other segments of play, but there’s still a journey here for someone looking for a relaxing platformer or one with plenty of extras to spice up the already varied level designs.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island is nog steeds de mooiste platformer ooit gemaakt, maar wat pure fun betreft, is Yoshi’s Woolly World de nieuwe beste game met Yoshi in de titel!

Co-op play isn’t as much fun as we might have hoped, and it’d be nice if the designers could find a way around Yoshi’s outmoded aiming mechanic, but the abundance of delightfully creative levels ought to sate casual Wii U gamers and the considerable challenge of tracking down every last collectible on each stage should appeal to Nintendo’s hardcore platformer fans.

Yoshi’s Woolly World doesn’t do much that we haven’t seen before in Nintendo’s long history of these sorts of games, and its exceptional cuteness factor helps overcome some of its slightly derivative design. But in a season so focused on doing vicious harm in virtual worlds, its lovely to take a whimsical stroll with this delightful dinosaur daredevil.

Unfortunately, the relative unpopularity of the Wii U makes that scenario unlikely, which is why despite their uselessness in the game itself I hope those Yarn Yoshi Amiibo sell well. Perhaps those overpriced but desirable toys will turn more people’s attention towards this delightful game.

Yoshi’s Wooly Wolrd es fácilmente uno de los mejores juegos de Wii U gracias a su excelente uso de diseño visual.

In the end, Yoshi’s Woolly World may not be the masterpiece that Yoshi’s Island was, but in the two decades since that game’s release, it is the first game to feel like a worthy follow-up to it. By combining the essence of Kirby’s Epic Yarn into the Yoshi series, Woolly World becomes its own entity that does both sides of its inspiration proud. It’s beautiful to look at, and it’s rather impressive musical score also makes it a joy to listen to. The gameplay is simple and fun, and the collectibles give the game a nice dose of depth and replayability.

It's not going to cause you any sleepless nights (,,,), so if you're seeking a rock-hard platformer to push your abilities you'd be best looking elsewhere. What Woolly World instead offers is one of the most visually charming and inventive games you'll see tis generation: one that will put a smile on your face, if not sweat on your brow.

Yoshi’s Wooly World is an adorable game, and it’s often a fun one. However, the light difficulty prevents it from reaching the excellence of Yoshi’s Island. It’s still the best Yoshi adventure since that classic, but no one is going to bring up Wooly World in future “best platformer ever” discussions.

Although Yoshi’s Woolly World won’t go down as the most challenging platformer for the Wii U (Mario and Donkey Kong have him lapped), it does provide a cute little experience that players of all ages will certainly enjoy. There are lots of collectibles to track down, and the two-player mode offers a fun little diversion from the single player stuff. If you don’t mind stringing along with the smaller hiccups, you’ll find plenty to like here.

Overall, Yoshi's Woolly World is beautiful, but simplistic. It doesn't push any platforming boundaries, but offers a good challenge to those that want to find it all. Don't come into Woolly World looking for a challenge and longevity, but instead looking for a laid back title that will leave you with a smile on your face for the short time you have with it.

An entertaining platformer that's let down by lacklustre level design. It's certainly not as epic as Kirby's Wii adventure but it will still keep platform fans happy.

Yoshi's Wooly World är ett bedårande vackert plattformsspel men som hålls tillbaka av en inte alltför spännande bandesign. Föredrar du att samla på saker blir det däremot ett helt annat – och mycket bättre – spel.

Yoshi's Woolly World is best described as easy, beautiful, and inventive. While the times it offers challenge are a little too spread out for my liking, the game looks and sounds stunning, and offers players a variety of new sights to experience along their journey. If you're looking for something to play to unwind, something pleasant and positive, this would be a pretty darn solid choice to go with.

As you might gather most of the distinguishing features in Yoshi’s Woolly World are fairly superficial. The game underneath is charming and well made, but it’s not nearly as novel as the visual style might imply. What results is well above average for most platformers, but it’s yet another Yoshi game that fails to do anything new for the character or the genre in general.

I’m really liking the idea of a “spiritual” series of yarn-based games, and would love to see more Nintendo properties go the same route as Epic Yarn and Woolly World. That said, they need to bring a little extra freshness of their own rather than walk over familiar ground, because this highly promising idea already runs the risk of submerging into mediocrity.

This leads to it sometimes feeling like a collection of Nintendo's Greatest Hits. There is the odd flourish of creativity, but it is hard not to feel like it's all been done before, and better. There's still plenty to enjoy, but it doesn't quite carve out its own identity. In short: it's finely crafted, if a bit woolly.

Woolly World has the cute factor alright, but you get out of it what you put in. Make the effort to track down every collectible on the level and you’ll be rewarded with a slightly addictive , beautifully crafted game.

Yoshi’s Woolly World does justice to the wool formula that Good Feel established with Kirby’s Epic Yarn, the use of yarn in the game is incredible and Yoshi and his game world have never looked better. Woolly World in its gameplay is a great game that offers plenty of changes that are appreciated and offers a fun game, it is just the many shortcomings that hold it back.

Yoshi’s Woolly World is so sweet and colourful that it looks right out of a kids movie, yet it is surprisingly challenging. It will take a truly skilled player to unlock everything that the game has to offer on classic mode, but the mellow mode makes sure that it stays accessible to less experienced gamers. The game can be completed in less than ten hours if you only want to go from point A to point B, but the thrill of figuring out puzzles and the feeling of cleverness that comes with it will make sure you will want to dig deeper. While it falls short of being an all-time great like Yoshi’s Island, it is still one of Nintendo’s freshest efforts on the Wii U.
