Description

Spitzenreiter (German word for frontrunner) is a football manager game for up to four players. The players can compete in the highest four leagues of German football at the time (starting from the "Landesliga" up to the "Bundesliga"). You goal is to buy a competitive team, make enough money to buy hot players on the free market and win either the league and cup competitions.

Games are simulated quickly, with only text presentation of the events in-game, like scoring goals. During the game, the players only interacts on injuries or if a players is sent off. The multi-player mode is integral part of the game, as all the actions are not in rounds, but all players can take part on mostly all actions (but controlled with a single controller, the mouse). For example in the transfer market players can be selected and all players can make their offer at the same time (there are buttons for all players).

The game does not feature any training settings, and the players on the market are mainly established German professional players with some international additions. Income from TV and stadiums is automatically assigned. Contracts with players has to be renewed, and transfer prices are automatically created by the game.

All in-game texts are in German.
