Real Football 2012
Description
Real Football 2012 is a 3D football (soccer) game and the follow-up to Real Football 2011. This version is different from the JAVA version of the same name, which is a 2D game with different features. It is also a free-to-play game with in-app purchases and not a premium game like the other version.
The game has licensed players and teams. There are 350 teams and fourteen full leagues such as Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Portugal, Spain, US and so on. The game includes the national teams as well. Through an editor it is possible to change the player names, starting line-up and tactics and formation. Players can also design custom kits for teams and these can be shared with the community. The single-player mode contains various cups, leagues, scenarios, training sessions, exhibition matches and a season club master mode. Challenges and quick matches can be played as well. There are interactive quizzes on the loading screens and there is voiced commentary. There is no multiplayer mode. The game keeps tracks of contemporary games and let players re-play these. Recent matches are shown in a news feed fetched online where they can be selected to re-play them right away.
The game used a virtual D-pad on the left side of the screen for movement and three buttons on the right. While attacking these are pass, shoot and sprint. While defending they become press, sprint and tackle. The nearest player generally becomes the active one, but it also possible to select them directly on the screen, for passes as well.
By playing matches experience is earned to level up through a global player level. The game uses an energy/stamina level where starting matches reduces a meter. The player has to wait for it to refill or buy a refill with real money. There are also two types of currencies, coins and cash, earned through performances, but also available through in-app purchases. The currencies can be spent on new stadiums, balls, team and match elements and so on. Many of these act as temporary or permanent boosters, providing more experience, more rewards or better performances for players. The currencies can also be used to unlock certain cups, leagues and game modes right away. There is a separate Lucky Shot section where a ball can be selected or purchased with one of the currencies for a chance to win a prize.
