The Endless Abyss
Description official description
Zachary Rickettz is a warrior who is on a mission: traveling through the kingdom and finding three relics. These are said to be cursed and, of course, play an important part in the eternal fight between good and evil. During his travels, he will visit various locations all over the medieval/fantasy game world and battle monsters as well as bosses.
The Endless Abyss plays similar to the early The Legend of Zelda titles, but focuses more on the combat than puzzle-solving: while walking over the maps, random enemies appear which need to be faced in action-based combat. Zachary has three weapon types available (two weapons of any combination can be equipped at the same time): swords for melee combat, bows for ranged combat (stun enemies) and tomes (actually not weapons in themselves, but give additional soul points). The player can activate a limited power mode which makes the next attack more powerful and results in less damage taken.
Fighting enemies rewards experience points which eventually lead to level-ups. These automatically improve Zachary's abilities (adds more magic spells) and statistics (health, stamina, soul). Stamina is used for using weapons (each attack detracts stamina and if it runs out, the player needs to wait for it to automatically recover before another attack can be launched) and soul is the magic power used for performing spells.
The overhead maps do scroll and have defined exits to the next map. In some cases, the exit leads to the world map where the next location to visit can be chosen. Besides combat zones, Zachary will also visit friendly places where he can chat with people and visit store to purchase health and soul recovery items. Gold is earned by slaying enemies or by opening chests (may also contain items). The main quest structure is linear, but there are also a few side quests (collect item X by killing monster Z) to perform. The game can be saved at any time and the hero's name changed in the beginning.

Trivia
Planned prequel
The developer planned a precursor to The Endless Abyss, taking place over a thousand years before the events in the aforementioned game. The game was going to be called Phantom Alliance and the gameplay was going to be more a turn-based strategy game. The game seemingly never came to fruition.
