Description official description

Punch Club is a single-player sports management and life simulation game with role-playing elements. The story follows an unnamed young man whose father, a skilled martial artist, was murdered during the protagonist’s childhood. Determined to uncover the identity of the killer while building his own reputation, the player takes charge of training and managing the character’s daily life. The path forward combines the pursuit of boxing glory with the personal quest for justice, all presented with numerous references to action films and pop culture of the 1980s and 1990s.

Gameplay revolves around balancing the protagonist’s time, money, and physical needs. Activities such as working jobs, eating meals, and resting consume both time and energy, while training in gyms or at home builds the character’s strength, agility, and stamina. These core attributes form the foundation for fighting styles and strategies. Time advances continuously, and poor management may leave the character hungry, exhausted, or unprepared for important matches.

Fights themselves are largely automated, with the player preparing strategies beforehand by assigning moves and abilities to a limited set of slots. During combat, the boxer executes these choices according to his stats and stamina, so success depends on careful preparation and long-term planning rather than reflexes. Winning bouts earns money, reputation, and access to new opportunities, while losing can set back progress or reduce standing in the local leagues.

Outside of the ring, the player explores a city map that includes gyms, stores, restaurants, workplaces, and homes of acquaintances. Visiting different locations advances subplots and allows interactions with colorful side characters, many of whom provide training advice, story quests, or optional battles. Decision-making plays a role in shaping the protagonist’s path, from pursuing legal boxing leagues to getting involved with underground fight clubs.

Progression involves not only climbing competitive rankings but also making narrative choices that branch the storyline. The player can specialize in different combat schools, such as strength-based brawling or agility-focused martial arts, each unlocking unique moves and skill trees. Along the way, new opportunities appear depending on the boxer’s reputation, relationships, and moral choices. The game features multiple endings based on the balance between personal ambition and the pursuit of vengeance.
