Rez Infinite is a remake of Rez (2001), which recreates the game in HD and adds virtual reality compatibility. In addition to including all content from previous versions of the game, Infinite also adds Area X, a bonus level with original music and graphics that take cues from Child of Eden.

Trivia
Synesthesia Suit
The game's producer, Tetsuya Mizuguchi, created a full-body feedback unit called the Synesthesia Suit for use with Infinite's VR capabilities, allowing the wearer to physically feel vibrations produced in time with their in-game actions. The suit was developed as part of Mizuguchi's research on transmedia projects at Keio University, and its creation fulfilled one of his original ideas for Rez. Although too expensive to be made into a commercial product, the suit was available for members of the media to experience during some of the game's prerelease appearances.
