SNESVideo Game Den (Jan 19, 2009)
Aside from a couple of framerate slowdowns and a short lifespan, Sonic Wings is a game with high production values and a distinct gameplay that will most certainly satisfy any fan of the genre. One of the best vertical shooter for the system and an amazing conversion.
SNESGamePro (US) (Aug, 1994)
Lovers of shooter games won't be able to resist a play or two or ten. But Aero Fighters' action won't stay with you - it's a temporarily thrill that eventually retreats to the hangar.
SNESMega Fun (Jan, 1995)
If you're a fan of shooters, Aero Fighters is one of the better ones on the market; just don't count on it to be the last word in the genre. This isn't the Super Street Fighter II of shooters, just a pretty good game that you might not care about playing in a year's time.
ArcadeAll Game Guide (1998)
Overall, the graphics and sound are standard for the early '90s. Shots make swoosh sounds and the music sounds as if it is playing it on a Casio keyboard -- hallmarks of this kind of game. Your starting player choices have no bearing on gameplay since firepower is all the same in the beginning. Aero Fighters is not worth your time, unless you enjoy an impossible challenge and have five dollars in change.
