A fun, classic game on the Game Boy

The Good
Alleyway for the Game Boy is a amazing game. Its something that you can play for hours and really enjoy. Alleyway has similarities to the game Breakout, which I guess you can say this is a clone. Although with Alleyway, Nintendo threw in their own little twist. With adding Mario to the game. He is on the front cover, and before a level you can see him jumping into the paddle. I think that is very cool that Nintendo threw their own little twist to the game.

The graphics for Alleyway are good on the Game Boy, the game doesn't glitch, or get choppy, all and all, perfect graphics for a Game Boy game like this

The music and sound effects are good as well, Although there is not much music in the game, the music is clean and crisp, and now a bunch of random noises thrown together and not well composed.

The Bad
There is really nothing to not like about this game. I guess my only complaint would be how the controls can be a little bit slippery, but it is nothing to really complain about. You really just need to have a good hand/eye coordination, and you should get pretty far in the game.

The Bottom Line
The bottom line is, this game is amazing, and I love playing it.

Here is a bit more info about the game, that you will need to know:

There are 32 stages total in this game. With 24 regular levels, that are in group of 3, and then you have bonus stages after 3 consecutive regular stages.

The bonus stages are really cool, because they change up the layouts of the bricks. One level will have the bricks in the shape of Mario, or a Piranha Plant, or a Goomba, which puts a twist to the game.

Some of the layouts of the bricks on the regular stages are changed around, and have their own little twist to it.

If you have never played Alleyway, you could probably find the game at a used game store. I know a few that have it, and I think the highest I seen it sell for was $10, that might be a bit much for a Game Boy game, but its well worth it. Alleyway is fun, and a classic video game.

Quite horrible really.

The Good
Not much; again, it's one of those Game Boy must-have, basic games. But if I knew how bad it was I'd never bother to play it.

The Bad
Choppy controls, combined with mediocre-at-best graphics, bad sound, poor and repetitive table design and stupid twists to try and keep you interested - in short, this game isn't worth playing, not even for a little bit. It's that bad, really.

The Bottom Line
Lame, lame game. Should've never seen the light of day.
