Not a direct adaption but rather a sequel of the novel from Jules Verne, this game took you deep below into the realms of boredom and frustration. Matthias Ernst (4) 2.25 Stars2.25 Stars2.25 Stars2.25 Stars2.25 Stars

Your Amiga (Jun, 1989)
Journey could have been a decent strategy game with classy arcade elements, but alas falls down in all gaming departments to leave you with a very attractive game some interesting sound effects, and a desire to go to Turkey for your holiday this year instead.
Amiga Computing (Jun, 1989)
Despite the excellent graphics, Journey to the Centre of the Earth is boring. There is not enough for the player to do and too little variety in what appears on screen. Interest quickly flags as a result.
Commodore User (May, 1989)
You survive being trampled to death by a rampaging herd of mammoths only to die soon after from a chronically sprained wrist. It is simply not fair and neither is Journey to the center of the Earth. It should have been good, but it isn't really.
This is a disappointingly uncomplicated game after the superbly involving Joan of Arc.
Same not very wonderful game, but with slightly better looking graphics and some better sound.
The One (May, 1989)
Sharper and clearer than the Atari version, this one is still probably the greatest disappointment of all, running at speeds far slower than the machine is capable of.
Zzap! (May, 1989)
The majority of the game is spent pressing one of the direction arrows, hearing some footsteps, and reading about the surrounding area. Hardly epic material, is it?
Power Play (Dec, 1988)
