Zzap! (Jul, 1990)
Presentation is packed with nice stuff, including goal replays, pics of each player, a league and the option for third player to use a joystick through the Microdeal interface. Simple game idea has been enhanced by a wide variety of slick looking pitches which can scroll very fast. A selection of good tunes. Simple to understand and play, if not master, with plenty of pitches, a league and training options. A fun game superbly executed.
Identical to the Atari ST version. Graphics, sound and playability are retained in this great three-player game.
Amiga Power (Jul, 1991)
[Budget re-release] Fiercely competitive mix of air hockey and Speedball - far better with friends than on your own though.
CU Amiga (Jul, 1990)
Projectyle is a very subjective game. A simple idea executed well enough to appeal greatly to some people, but not to others. I didn't enjoy it because I found the control system too frustrating to get to grips with, but the I know some people that swear it's one of the best games they've ever played. Try before you buy.
Power Play (Aug, 1990)
Amiga Power (May, 1991)
Incredibly fast action, lots of depth if you want it. terrifyingly competitive in multi-player mode. A bit too fast and frantic for some. The most imaginative future sport yet, and arguably the best.
Amiga Joker (Sep, 1990)
Projectyle would be just another "Rollerball" rip-off if it weren't for the flavor that is added in terms of individual players with ratings in 6 statistics, unique home fields with personalities of their own, and special effects objects that add twists to the game play. Combine this with "coaching" the players in one's tribe to different playing field locations, fretting injuries, and trying to beat the mighty Devils (especially in their home court), makes this a game to be reckoned with and replayed often.
