On the Amiga the effortless scrolling is a little less obviously "impressive", but the appeal of the graphics and the exceptionally tough, but fair, challenge remains intact. It's a pity that the later levels - easily seen, as with the ST version, in the ten-level demo - are not the same excellent standard as the earlier ones.

Genesis is to Defender what Jinks is to Breakout; namely a sophisticated horizontal scroller that shifts like there's no tomorrow. The game has moved firmly away from wire frame animations and is blessed with solid fills.

Der bedeutendste Unterschied der Amiga-Umsetzung von „Retum to Genesis“ wird allenfalls Musik-Fans in Entzücken versetzen: Bei der Titelmusik sind jetzt ein paar Handclaps dazugekommen. Ansonsten wird bei Steve Baks Action-Spiel gescrollt und geschossen wie auf dem ST.

It's got excellent graphics, some digitised speech and lots of speedy action. The strange rebounding action is still present to make control awkward. Another average shoot-em-up to join the hordes of others.
