A better conversion that the original, but still mediocre at best

The Good
Unlike the Amiga version of the first Chase HQ, the car handled responsively, and the difficulty curve has about right.

The Bad
The graphics were a fairly bland recreation of the arcade game, especially compared to Lotus 1 which was out at the same time. there was no real sensation of speed either.

The amount of disk accessing and swapping was farcical, and completely broke the flow of the game. A bit of sensible design would've allowed only one disk swap during play, and the loading routine seemed shoddy compared to the likes of Lotus.

It just wasn't as good an arcade game as the original either. The main reason is that shooting at the cars had less thrill or macho satisfaction than ramming them off the road, and partly because the way each arrest turned out to be wrong gradually sapped the motivation to get through it.

The Bottom Line
Track down a series of wanted criminals, and then shoot at their cars to stop them getting away. You get a minute for each of these tasks, as well as three turbo-boosts to use as you see fit.
