Zzap! (Nov, 1988)
Fantastic introduction piece, ability to start on any of the first ten levels and numerous humorous in-game touches. Brilliant sprites, funny animation and all-round good use of colour. A load of great samples and tunes. The simple gameplay is an absolute doddle to get into... ... and it's as easy to get completely hooked. Another old game given a new lease of life and it's well funny to boot!

It is hard to say what type of dude would really enjoy Zoom; personally I think it is absolutely brilliant. Not too complex but still enjoyable, no really stunning graphics or sound but still very good ones that are clear and attractive. The whole game has a really concentrated feeling of slickness about it. But although I may rave you may wish to think carefully before buying, as this type of very basic gameplay may only appeal to the very basic minded – like myself, for instance.
Thereafter sound FX are uniformly excellent and graphic presentation makes the most of the very basic game structure. Addictive and fun to play, Zoom! is well worth considering.

Zoom! may have better graphics than the earlier arcade versions, but the gameplay's just the same and after a short while you'll find it becomes very dull. It may have been fun about eight years ago, but things have moved on since then.
