Description

Heroes of Dragon Age is a free-to-play mobile game based on the Dragon Age RPG series. It plays similarly to a collectible card game albeit with 3D figures instead of cards. These figures are the game's heroes and the player gets to assemble a squad of five heroes that combats human or AI-controlled enemies. The battles are automatically played out and the outcome depends on the selection of heroes and their formation on the battlefield.

The game consists of 16 quests each with their own map and each of these consists of a number of battles. Each map is based on a specific part of the Dragon Age lore and it includes content based on all the games as well as spin-offs such as novels. For each battle won the player earns experience as well as gold. By completing all the battles of a map the player earns a certain amount of gems. After winning a battle it is possible to master it by replaying it a certain number of times with the difficulty increasing with every play. By mastering battles the player is awarded with extra gems. In addition to quests there are daily and limited time events.

New and better heroes can be earned by playing the game or by acquiring them from the store. Heroes can also be improved by doing battles as they then will level up and get better stats. There are four stat categories: power, health, crit rate and speed. Heroes can also be improved by combing or consuming them. Combining means that two identical heroes can be merged to create one of a higher tier, while consuming is similar but involves sacrificing a weaker hero to boost another ones crit rate and experience. There are also runes that can be used to give the squad temporary boosts.

As the game uses a free-to-play business model it has a store where the player can acquire packs of heroes and runes. Some items can be bought with real money while other can be bought with gems or golds which can be earned by playing the game. Gems can also be bought with real money. The game uses an energy and stamina system where quests and battles costs some energy or stamina and when they are empty they have to be refilled by spending gems or the player has to wait until it happens automatically.
