Angry Cecil: A Lion's Revenge
Description official description
Angry Cecil: Revenge of Lion is a game made to capitalize on the 1st July 2015 event where Cecil, a 13-year-old male Southwest African lion, was killed by the American recreational big-game hunter Walter Palmer in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe, Africa. The game consists of eighteen missions where one of three lions (Cecil, Jericho or King) needs to survive for a certain amount of time, kill hunters or protect cubs.
The levels are set in small city environments that can be explored freely. The lion is moved using a virtual D-Pad in the bottom left corner and a virtual button in the bottom right corner can be tapped to attack. A mini-map in the top right corner shows the position of the hunters and cubs, as well as the direction the lion is facing. The lion has a limited amount of energy (health) and that is shown in the top left corner. By completing missions coins can be earned to unlock the lions Jericho and King. They are identical in abilities, but have a different speed. Coins are also provided for running into objects or knocking them over. Additionally coins are needed to unlock a new level if the previous one was not completed. The game is in many ways unpolished, apparent through clipping problems and certain animations that are lacking.
The game is free-to-play without in-app purchases, but advertisements are shown regularly.
