A recent instalment of the digital antiquarian's blog fingers Rare's Stamper bros. (as Zilec) as the architects of the arcade version, sold to Konami. So who really "developed" the game? Konami's role appears slight, esp. since Parker Bros appears to have done the porting heavy lifting. http://www.filfre.net/2014/01/the-legend-of-ultimate-play-the-game/

Zilec is known to have developed a number of uncredited games for Jaleco, so it wouldn't surprise me to find out they worked with Konami as well.

Also, awesome article! :)

It's always nice to see one's recreational reading choices vindicated by one's peers. What do you folks think about me submitting corrections to get Zilec rather than Konami credited as the developers?

I'd say go for it. Actually, there are other games we have on file that were originally by Zilec -- Blueprint and The Pit, and probably more that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Here's a little writeup on an unreleased game they for Jaleco back in 1983. :)
