The Arcade version of Ridge Racer appears in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die by General Editor Tony Mott.

Bonus game

It's possible to play a Galaxian variant in the game's pre-loader. When successfully having destroyed all the Galaxians, 8 extra vehicles will be available to drive in Ridge Racer.

Game code

The entire game code is about 4 MB (music not included). It's possible to play the game without the music. When the game has been loaded, remove the disc from the PlayStation and play the entire game without the disc.

Product code

Ridge Racer has the distinction of having the first Sony games Part Number in its Japanese (SLPS-00001) and European (SCES-00001) releases.
