Arthur's 2nd Grade is an updated version of Arthur's 2nd Grade (1999). The basic content and premise is identical, but it expands the nine existing learning activities with six more, for fifteen activities in total. Most notably there are three reward activities that become available after all the other ones have been completed.
The three activities are presented as games on arcade cabinets:
In the first one the player controls Bionic Bunny with gameplay similar to Asteroids. The bunny is floating in space in the middle of the screen in a fixed position and the player needs to aim and pop bubbles that then break up in smaller fragments. The bubbles cannot hit the bunny or a life is lost.
In the second game a character needs to be guided through a maze. There are animals such as elephants, birds, lions, monkeys and seals with animations and actions that can block the path. The player need to time carefully to reach the exit while avoiding the animals.
The third activity is a turn-based game with ants and ladybugs on a blanket. Taking turns the goal is to get five of them in a row in any direction as each player takes turns putting a bug on the blanket. The first player to make a row wins the game.
The skills that are developed in this title are arts & crafts, categorization, compound words, drawing & coloring, geography, measurement, patterns & sequences, reading, sequence story writing, spelling, synonyms & antonyms, and telling the time.
