Arvale: Journey of Illusion is a role-playing game for mobile devices. It combines features found in Japanese and Western RPGs: top-down tile-based graphics, meaningful dialogues, global map exploration, random encounters and turn-based combat. The story says that evil Dark Dragon is about to wake from his magical slumber and reign terror on humanity again, so a new hero must be found, that would save everyone trouble and deal with the beast. A description particularly fits the son of royal gardener, who's reluctant to take the job, however, the king is sure that the prophecy speaks highly of that young man. The intentional humorous take on traditional role-playing tropes is what sets Arvale apart from many other titles.

The game features a simple role-playing system, where you have only three main stats: strength, dexterity and knowledge, as well a physical and magical defense. The battles are fought on one-on-one basis as you don't have a party, and you can take your time to select a weapon or spell of choice, as you would do in a JRPG. There are both visible and random encounters in the game. Another feature is that your equipment don't last forever - it can only be used so many times before it turns into junk.

There are six continents to visit, hundreds of NPCs, over two hundred of monsters, two thousand graphical objects and over forty-five minutes of original music.
