Assault!

Assault! is a 1-player arcade game for the TRS-80.

The player controls a small ATV in the center of the screen which can fire forwards and backwards. The vessel has 4 speeds, and can move in the four cardinal directions, while the screen can scroll vertically and horizontally. The player must explore the maze and destroy all mushrooms present within. The player is hunted by a giant spider, which lays baby spiders, and continuously moves towards the player. The giant spider cannot be destroyed, but it will be stunned if shot. The spider progressively speeds up as its babies are destroyed. Players can destroy walls and mountains to create new paths to travel. Bags of gold are dispersed throughout the maze, and destroying these causes the player to lose points. The player can set the difficulty level from A - Z which controls enemy speed, but also the terrain they play on. The player starts with 5 ATVs, and it's game over if all are lost.
