Bank Heist is a perfect example of playing off of an old idea and doing something original. Pac-Man on the 2600 just sucks, and this game is yet another title that fills the void nicely while taking a completely different direction. If you want to see a precursor to Grand Theft Auto, look no further! Bank Heist pushes the envelope in its presentation, design, and play. A great title. I strongly recommend it to any Atari 2600 fan who's looking for a Pac-Man style game that does it right and does it different. And if you've never played the 2600 before, I dare say this is a great game to start off with.
The graphics aren't much to look at, with the exception of those nifty old-time cars with the spinning wheels. Bank Heist is more involved than your typical maze game and takes a few plays to get the hang of it. But once you do it's quite satisfying in the later stages where the action becomes fast and furious.
Unremarkable Pac-Man/Lock ‘n Chase-style maze chase game. You drive around various “cities” (mazes) robbing banks while avoiding the mons… I mean “police.” It’s playable but gets repetitive awfully fast. Graphics are a little flat and uninspiring. It’s frustrating how the cop cars spawn out of nowhere – you don’t have much of a fighting chance when one suddenly materializes in front of you. I find it a little amusing that we’re only two letters into the alphabet and there are already two Pac-Man clones from 20th Century Fox. Alien was much better though
