The game starts out as interactive fiction with graphics; to turn off the graphics, hit ENTER on a blank line. (On a true 4.77MHz/CGA machine, the speed of the switch from graphics to text mode is instantaneous.)
Also, Transylvania II is one of the few PC titles that supports 16 colors exclusively in PCjr computers.
