The laser disc version of Dragon's Lair was reviewed on the ST a long while back - but how many people have got a laser disc player? The ST floppy disk version has been far too long coming, and now it's finally arrived is unlikely to raise any eyebrows. Cartoony graphics and impressive sound effects still don't compensate for the lack of content.
Tilt (Sep, 1990)
ST Format (Jul, 1990)
Dragon's Lair makes a wonderful demo, but there's so little interaction that it doesn't stand up as a game. The programmers should strip out the tedious joystick movements and release it as a cartoon. It's an appalling game and at such an inflated price it's just not worth the money. Readysoft have Dragon's Lair II scheduled for release at Christmas, but before they design another sprite, they had better improve the gameplay.
