There are many options to mess about with - altering the composition of your army, for instance, or trying new formations. Everything a strategy fan could want is included even though the graphics are simple and the sound is strictly minimal. Cohort is bound to appeal to the hardcore wargamer because it's completely strategy-based. There are no pretty arcade bits like you see in Betrayal, but buy it if wargames are your bag.
A clumsy interface coupled with mediocre graphics shows why British products are generally not ready for the American market. Still a detailed game of Roman military tactics; superseded by Cohort II.
