The Arcade version of Rampart appears in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die by General Editor Tony Mott.

Version differences

Two versions of Rampart were released on the NES - North America saw a version ported for Jaleco by Bitmasters (who would also do the Super NES and DOS ports), while in Japan Konami released their own in-house version of the game. Jaleco's version of "Rampart" is faithful to the original arcade version, while Konami's version is a more light-hearted take on the game with 4 different scenarios and more depth than the Jaleco version.
