Exactly the same pulse-racing excitement as the Amiga game and even the sound is just as good! Highly recommended.
Fans of Lotus Turbo Challenge should be aware that this is a completely different style of game, but it's entertaining none-the-less.
ST Format (Jan, 1991)
Toyota Celica GT Rally is a deeply atmospheric game. While it's not superfast, the feel is excellent, and you can't help holding on for dear life as you thunder round the track. Touches like the windscreen wipers and the co-driver reinforce the impression of being there. If you can't afford the 80 grand or so it costs for a rally car, this is the next best thing, possibly.
ST Format (May, 1992)
[Budget re-release] There are some good touches, like the need to use your windscreen wipers in snow and rain, and the sampled voice of your co-driver. But on the whole, the driving itself is too awkward and unrealistic to make you want to try very much. The corners all seem to be right angles, and the car control is very iffy. Shame really - but hey! That’s life.
Die ST-Fassung steht der der Amiga-Version in Nichts nach. Beide sind was für Rallye-Freunde, die noch keine andere Renn-Erfahrung (z.B. Lombard Rallye) gemacht haben. Gut, mehr leider nicht!
Atari ST User (May, 1992)
Poor controls and a complete lack of any sense of competition make this one of the worst driving games I've seen.
