Commodore 64Zzap! (Oct, 1987)
A truly impressive product, brilliantly designed, implemented and executed.

Great scrolling - surprisingly smooth - and good use of colour make this an impressive and worthwhile conversion. As on the other versions, the combination of blasting, exploration and Spindizzy-style dexterity gives it bags of long-term interest and a nice fat rating.

The wonderful Marble Madness clone that was reviewed on the C64 in ACE issue 2. The Spectrum version turns out to be just as playable and just as much fun. The graphics are superb and the gameplay is compelling. Red L.E.D. certainly deserves the original high rating.

All these features combined with a "view level" map option make this game stand head and shoulders above the opposition. Challenging, at times frustrating (particularly when you're trying to remember which landscape requires which droid), but hugely addictive.

Commodore 64Computer and Video Games (CVG) (Nov, 1987)
In all there are 37 landscapes to explore. So you can go for the quick link win (hopefully) or travel the grid piling up the points. Lots of action in this very playable offering.

Survived well, with few limitations.

Commodore 64Commodore User (Oct, 1987)
I reckon Red L.E.D. is a worthy addition to Marble Madness and its clones and is probably the most difficult and most challenging of its type. If you're still hooked on this kind of game, Red L.E.D. is a challenge not to be missed. If you're late into it forget the rest, just get this one.

Amstrad CPCThe Games Machine (UK) (Dec, 1987)
It runs slower too, which means it might take a while to get into the game, but with dozens of mazes and the varied attributes of each droid, it needs a good dose of strategic thought to play well and provides plenty of challenge.

ZX SpectrumThe Games Machine (UK) (Dec, 1987)
All in all, despite the game's addictive qualities, the slowness is a severe detraction.

Commodore 64ASM (Aktueller Software Markt) (Oct, 1987)
