Black Mirror III concludes the horrific tale of the Gordon family, the string of murders connected with them, and the curse of the Black Mirror Castle which began in the first game, The Black Mirror.
This game starts within minutes of where Black Mirror II ended. The Black Mirror Castle is burning, and Adrian Gordon (aka Darren Michaels), son of Samuel Gordon from the first game, is found running through the forest holding a lit torch. The police arrest him as their prime suspect, but they get nowhere during their interrogations since his own mind is a mass of confusion. While in custody, Adrian is plagued by convoluted, gruesome nightmares that interrupt his sleep at night and haunt him by day. When someone unknown posts his bail, he is set free. He has so many unanswered questions and so many fears. He gradually begins to suspect that his past is irrevocably linked with evil.
Black Mirror III is a third person, single-player, point-and-click adventure game much the same as the previous game but with improvements to sound and graphics. Its six chapters take place in Willow Creek and the areas near the Black Mirror Castle with many new locations to explore and new NPC characters. Players take the role of Adrian Gordon for most of the game, but during later chapters control of two characters will be possible and necessary.
The game also includes a journal with a help function and a "quick solve" option for some of the game's puzzles.
In what used to be Dr. Hermann's house, there is a PC you can use to play Space Attack, a Space Invaders variant. Coincidentally or not it shares the same name with another variant, released in 1979 by SEGA for the arcades.
