Body Glove's Bluewater Hunter is a game based on the sports of spear fishing and it is endorsed by the Body Glove watersports brand. Strapped into a wetsuit and using a snorkel, players dive in exotic waters to hunt fourteen species of fish using a spear. The locations include Australia, California, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama and South Africa. To unlock a new location, players need to hunt down three types of fish using a spear gun and bring them back to shore where they are weighed. The larger the fish are, the more points are awarded.
Various dangers threaten the hunter. There are predator fish such as orcas and sharks that need to be avoided, and the diver can only hold his breath for a limited amount of time, between forty seconds and three minutes. When out of breath the diver blacks out. When this happens three times the game is over. At harder difficulty levels the time limit remains the same, but the hunted fish move faster. The game allows players to design a custom diver, store records and it includes tips by the freediving champion Terry Maas.
