BRAINtastic! Word Skills Key Stage 3

BRAINtastic! Word Skills Key Stage 3 is one in a series of titles from Australian educational software publisher EdAlive who produce titles for maths & literacy for the UK, Australian and New Zealand education systems. As with many education titles this product uses games as a motivational tool and as a reward.

The three games in this product are the same as the games in BRAINtastic! Word Skills Key Stage 1 and BRAINtastic! Word Skills Key Stage 2. Players must unlock the games by answering five questions correctly, this gives them access to the game for a limited period of time after which they must answer more questions to unlock the game and continue playing. The player's progress in the games is saved automatically. The games are; Bug Whack! - a mouse controlled Whac-a-Mole* game in which players swat bugs with their sandal. Each of the bugs has its own point score, extra points can be scored for combinations

• Extreme Fashion: This is a two dimensional dress-up game in which the player chooses a doll and dresses her.
• Galactic Retrieval Squad: A fixed screen game in which the player manoeuvres their space ship to collect gems, treasure chests etc. The ship is steered using the arrow keys, has a fixed amount of fuel and is damaged should it collide with the scenery. This game has nine levels.

All products in this range install to the same location and as the player's library expands they can all be accessed via the same menu, additional content and reward games were available on-line
