Having no connection whatsoever with the identically-titled game by Domark, this Absolute Zero is a shoot 'em up in which the player controls a satellite orbiting Earth. The main goal is to avoid and shoot as many asteroids and alien ball-things as possible. The satellite has limited ammo and shield energy, the latter lost by being hit. Both can be replenished by standing over the signal coming from Earth, which pops up randomly around the screen. The satellite can only shoot in four fixed directions (right, left, forward and backward), all at the same time. The player can collect several helpful power-ups during the game, such as temporary invulnerability and temporary rapid fire.

Once enough asteroids are destroyed, the satellite can be docked and the game will proceed to the next level.
