Conclave is a browser-based tabletop-style RPG that can be played solo or cooperatively by groups of up to four players. Conclave is HTML5-based, so it is playable on mobile devices as well, with many players reporting play from iPhones, iPads, Android devices, and even Windows Phones. Players create characters based on one of five unique archetypes, like Vanguard, Beacon, or Runecaster. Add a race, a gender, and a name, and you are ready to go. The world and story are unique to Conclave.

Conclave concentrates heavily on D&D-style tactical combat, but leavens it with group decision-making outside of fights. Combat is turn-based, with each player choosing a minor and major action for his or her character each turn. Players can take turns in any order, reducing the amount of waiting between turns. As soon as the party completes its actions, their foes act. Between many fights, the group must make decisions that affect the plot and the combats they face. The first few quests in Conclave are free to play. After that, you pay a fee to unlock additional quests.

The game offers the ability to play synchronously or asynchronously. The game moves at the same pace as the players: if they take turns every minute, the game will move just as quickly; if they only take a turn once a day, the game adjusts accordingly.
