In order to colonize the Solar System, humanity sends fleets of spacecraft into space with the goal of removing the ice chunks that endanger interplanetary travel. The player controls one such spaceship and must destroy the ice chunks that float aimlessly around the screen. The objective is to collect eight green crystals that some of them drop when destroyed. The ship should then be docked on the main base in order to transfer the crystals and advance towards the next level. When docking, the ship's defensive shields are re-energized. With every level change, the game switches between vertical-scrolling and side-scrolling movement.

The player can only control the ship's position, since the four guns are fixed at the top, the bottom and on the sides without any possibility of changing the aim. They always shoot simultaneously. Besides green crystals, destroyed ice chunks may also drop blue crystals, which are in fact power-ups such as temporary invulnerability, shield regeneration, super laser (rapid fire) or weapon upgrades. Hitting ice chunks and being shot by aliens reduces the shield energy, and when it is entirely depleted one of the player's three ships is lost. It's game over if all the ships are destroyed.
