Iron Maiden: Speed of Light

Iron Maiden: Speed of Light was released to promote Iron Maiden's homonymous video and their 2015 album The Book of Souls. The game is a Donkey Kong clone of sorts, with Iron Maiden's mascot Eddie as the protagonist, featuring a chiptune version of the Speed of Light song. Eddie must climb a building to rescue a red-headed girl at the top, while avoiding obstacles thrown by a bald muscular man.

Eddie can pick up objects that will spawn across the level, such as TVs and refrigerators, that can be thrown at the enemy. An axe called "Destroyer" can also be grabbed and swung, but unlike other objects, it will last only a few seconds. After reaching the top of the building and defeating the enemy, a ladder will appear leading to where the girl is. She will then give Eddie a heart and a blue circular portal will appear. Jumping into it will lead Eddie to the next level. As the levels progress, the building gets taller.

Eddie starts with 2 hearts in his health meter, that can be filled up to 4 hearts, collected with the girls rescued. Every time Eddie is hit by the objects thrown by the enemy he will lose one heart. If he's holding an object to be thrown, he will lose the object and will take no damage. There are two kinds of objects thrown, flaming TVs that fly directly through the building floors and barrels that roll down each floor, falling to the lower through the ladders. As Eddie can't jump while carrying an object, the player must chose to run away from barrels or destroy them with the carried object, having then to pick up another one to defeat the enemy.

The game is displayed as an arcade machine, and as the player presses the keys on the keyboard the joystick and buttons on screen move. Scores are recorded and can be shared on Facebook or Twitter.
