Creating a new character. You can pick any of the hero classes available in the original Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim, but you can change their gender and name them.
Any player can have several heroes at their disposal.
When you begin a new game you'll be greeted by the town crier who will explain the basics of the game. If you're patient and curious he'll also give some clues to a few quests.
Valmorgen is your starting location and the largest city in the game. Here you can buy items, train yourself, hire help and get quest, steal or look for honest work.
The sewers are the earliest and the easiest of dungeons. There you'll mostly encounter giant rats, but deeper levels hold much stronger opponents.
If you're not ready to set out on your own you might want to find work. However, city patrol can also be a dangerous job.
Fighting is resolved automatically based on your spells, items and how you've adjusted your settings. If you wish you can look at the battle log for details. Note that monsters can attack in groups.
The city's blacksmith sells a large variety of basic weapons and armor, however all heroes are restricted in their choices of weapon and armor types.
The library will allow you to learn spells, train your intelligence and magic resistance and read on various lore. You can also enchant your weapons and armor at the Wizard guild.
You can hire different mercenaries in many locations. They will take some battle XP, but will advance to level 3. Some heroes can charm or summon their own "hirelings".
Your journal holds all the info you've discovered in the game, divided in to appropriate sections. You can add your own musing using the Notepad.
Help is always available and will explain many important concepts of the game.
Your bestiary contains the tally of all the creatures you've killed and their description. The more you kill, the more information becomes available.
The best items in the game can't be bought from a blacksmith, but are taken form enemies or are quest rewards. Other magical items are available from the marketplace or the Wizard guild.
