This game is an early (~1996) web browser conversion of Christopher Manson's 1985 puzzle book MAZE: Solve the World's Most Challenging Puzzle, also converted as a 1994 Macintosh CD-ROM game entitled The Riddle of the Maze. The game presents 45 scanty illustrations of rooms, with text descriptions, and challenges a player to find the shortest and most direct route from room 1 to room 45 and back. Also, there is a bonus challenge of a riddle which can ostensibly be solved using clues found along the shortest path.

A demo version of this Maze was included with the January 1994 publication of the Mosaic User's Guide; the full conversion was later made available online.
