Reverse Boots is a platform puzzle game. The goal of each single screen level is to collect the key and go to the exit, and optionally pick up all 3 bonus stars.

A short introduction story shows a knight and his lovely princess, when suddenly a dragon swoops down and carries the princess away. Then, the knight hears a cry for help from a wizard who is being attacked by wolves. The knight slays the wolves and saves the wizard. The wizard shows his gratitude for saving his live by giving the knight a pair of magic boots. Staying true to videogame tradition the knight then rushes to the dragon's tower to rescue the princess.

The gameplay seems straight forward at first glance, but there is one simple twist. Every time the player jumps, certain platforms and traps are reversed. Wooden blocks will start moving, spikes will point in the opposite direction, blocks will rotate and shooting idol heads will switch the direction they're facing. The player must use appropriately timed jumps to safely get to the exit.

When the knight jumps on a spike, falls into the lava or is hit by a fireball he instantly dies and turns into dismembered gibs. However there are infinite lives so when the player dies the current level just resets. There are 20 levels in total and in the final level the player prevents the princess from being crushed by a flaming block.
