The Bunker is a short experience, and has an interesting story and feels like you are somewhat controlling a movie. If you’re looking for something off the beaten path, this live action game is definitely worth a play through, and it definitely left me wanting more.
Xbox OneTrueAchievements (Sep 23, 2016)
The Bunker is a special game in that it tries to be different from everything else. The way in which it plays out completely in live-action is extremely commendable and it's executed very well in the core point-and-click gameplay. The cast also play their parts very well, especially John's actor who perfectly conveys the character's utter terror to everything around him. Live-action does bring with it some issues, though, as the game can repeat cycles of actions when John is on the screen and the game itself suffers from some bugs. Despite potentially missing them and voiding them from your playthrough, the collectibles help to enrich the story and enlighten players on the bunker's creepy backstory. The developers have done a great job in creating a tense adventure and if you're simply curious in seeing what it's like to play a live-action game, or if you're up for a little atmosphere in your next title, then The Bunker is certainly worth the trip.
PlayStation 4Video Chums (Sep 20, 2016)
The Bunker's professional production and compellingly told story make it an extremely engaging experience despite its low level of player interaction. It's a shame that it only lasts three hours.

Nintendo SwitchNintendo Life (Apr 09, 2018)
The Bunker puts legacy FMV games to shame, delivering a slickly produced psychological horror experience for the price of a trip to your local cinema. The Switch release offers both the touchscreen comfort of the mobile version and the cinematic immersion of the home console versions, so there’s no better place to catch up if you skipped it first time round. However, lack of pointer control is a sorely missed opportunity to improve on the original release.

WindowsDestructoid (Sep 22, 2016)
As a game, it might bring all this goodwill down a peg, but it never once feels like you’ve wasted your time. At worst, it's like you’ve watched a great horror/thriller with a faulty remote by your side. And if you get over that, you’ll enjoy The Bunker. Well, as enjoyable as a post-nuclear holocaust story allows, anyway.
PlayStation 4Defunct Games (Sep 20, 2016)
As a full-motion video game, The Bunker excels in almost every way. It looks incredible and the acting never veers into campiness. It's a thrilling experience with a satisfying conclusion. But as an adventure game, The Bunker is a bit lacking. The puzzles are overly simplistic, the journey is too linear and the interface doesn't translate well on consoles. It's a story worth experiencing, even if the game mechanics aren't quite up to the same standard.
WindowsDualShockers (Sep 21, 2016)
Through the majority of its running time, The Bunker provides a tense ride that those looking for brisk horror experience may genuinely enjoy, though repeated trips back into its post-apocalyptic world may not be quite as fresh or horrific as the first time.
Nintendo SwitchSwitch Player (Mar 29, 2018)
The Bunker is a genuinely scary insight into loneliness and isolation. The setting and cast of characters really help bring its unsettling story to life, but the minimal interaction may put off a few people. I do wonder if it would've been more successful as a movie.

Overall, whilst I really enjoyed the story of The Bunker, it doesn’t make up for the fact that there’s just not that much to do. It’s on a par with a film in terms of length, it costs about the same as a Blu-Ray and it’s all done in live action. Really, I can’t help feeling that this is just a film where you have to move through chapters yourself; it simply doesn’t work as a game. I had high hopes for this title and I really wanted to love it, but it falls at the last hurdle by forgetting that it’s supposed to be a game.
