What I liked about this game is that a choice of possible locations, and you can choose one with a single key-press. Space is much too short to describe even half of the Lords of Midnight, but just imagine yourself in command of thousands of warriors and riders as they charge into battle. I nearly gave this epic adventure six stars - it should certainly not be missed.
One of the most involving and atmospheric fantasy wargames you could hope to play, and unusual in it's use of lanscaping.

Introduces a unique game-playing format. The game's atmosphere and uniqueness make it very compelling. A vast land to explore, an immense amount to do.

Although daunting at first, pursuing the (extremely difficult) quest without restraint is highly liberating. The lack of any linear structure ensures patience and dedication are required in amounts as sizeable as the map itself, but it's easy to see why Lords of Midnight remains a cult favourite.
