Description

OiX is an adaptation of tic-tac-toe, played versus the computer on a 20 by 20 board. The goal is to arrange five O's or X's in a row. The human player can choose if he wants to be O's or X's, and whether he wants to go first. A symbol is placed by typing in the coordinates of the chosen square of the board.

Development

The Polish book Bajty Polskie includes a quotation from the game author, who recalls that the game was written in BASIC with its key elements in assembly language, and that a special compiler needed to be used in order to keep the computer from taking forever to move.

Release history

The game was originally released as freeware. The later 1987 release is a commercial one.
