TurboGrafx-16Computer and Video Games (CVG) (Apr, 1991)
Another coin-op conversion, Cadash can be described as a side-on one player "Gauntlet meets Rastan", with loads of hack n' slash action. If dungeon exploration is your bag, or if you're a fan of the coin-op, check it out.
TurboGrafx-16TurboPlay (Oct, 1991)
Overall, Cadash keeps the integrity of the arcade game intact by featuring superb graphics, sound/music and game play. The only negative thing about the game is the fact that when you get hit by an enemy, you're thrown helplessly backward rather than simply having the damage taken off - you lose some control over your character's movement. However, this was the number-one, most requested game, not only from the readers of TurboPlay, but also on the TurboGrafx-16 Hotline. As the saying goes, "Good things come to those who wait." Fortunately, the wait is over.

TurboGrafx-16GamePro (US) (Dec, 1991)
Cadash is a unique, well-balanced blend of action and RPG that will stay fresh for months to come - even if you've gotta rescue some tired ol' princess babe. it's the journey, man, not the destination.
TurboGrafx-16Digital Press - Classic Video Games (Jun 08, 2003)
This cart contains very smooth control and displays some of the best graphics I've seen for this system. The music is also very good but the sound effects are weak. Cadash boasts plenty of action and a favorable challenge for veteran gamers.
GenesisMega Drive Advanced Gaming (Sep, 1992)
Despite the changes made the quest is rather exciting, one that involves plenty of action with a degree of mental exercise. It will take the two heroes some time to complete and should keep all adventurers enthralled for many moons to come.
TurboGrafx-16Defunct Games (Jan 27, 2007)
This game would be easy to recommend if it wasn't for its lack of continue or save screens. It's fun to take your friends into battle with you, but there are just too many problems associated with this concept. Having said that, you can still have a good time with Cadash as long as you remember to take things slow and appreciate every single inch of this title.

As for Cadash, it was a pretty face on an average game when it was first made, but now it isn't even that.
TurboGrafx-16Power Play (May, 1991)
TurboGrafx-16The Video Game Critic (Jan 11, 2011)
Each stage (or "continent") has a unique back-story and mini cut-scenes to add a little flavor. Unfortunately the first stage is so ridiculously hard it almost ruins the entire game. It features a tricky jump sequence over a pool of water. If you fall in, your character will continuously lurch backwards as you desperately try to climb out. It's obnoxious enough to set Cadash back a full letter grade. One key to survival is to "grind" on weak enemies to get your experience level up to 2 or 3. If you manage to defeat the "black pudding" boss, the game really opens up. Not only can you resurrect your partner in the next town, you can upgrade your weapons and load up on herbs. The lack of a password option is glaring, but you can find codes on the Internet that let you skip ahead. I have a love/hate relationship with Cadash. Its design flaws infuriate me to no end, yet I can't resist the urge to give it "just one more try".
GenesisGamers (Germany) (Aug, 1992)

GenesisAll Game Guide (1999)
Though it's aged quite a bit since it's arcade debut, Cadash is still an enjoyable action/RPG that always keeps the emphasis on the action. Grab a friend and head into some action/RPG nostalgia!

In the end, though it might sound like I'm knocking the game, I'm not. I admit it, I love Cadash. It's got a slightly better than usual plot, a great quest, fun multi-player, decent music. Unfortunately, it also has issues with control, difficulty and the lack of some kind of save feature. The title is solidly above average, but it definitely falls short in some regards. Ah, it's at times like this I wish I could decimal my score for clearer accuracy.
GenesisThunderbolt Games (Dec 07, 2004)
While Cadash for the Genesis does prove its worth as a challenging, solid side-scrolling quest complete with two-player capability, to really experience this excellent adventure game, hunt down a copy for your Turbografx-16. And while it’s generally frowned upon by 'real gamers,' you could always try your hand at the coin-op version for the Raine emulator--a seemingly dubious choice for most, until they’ve played Sega’s competent, though somewhat dull copy of what is a superbly engaging game.
GenesisPlay Time (Oct, 1992)
