California Gold Rush

California Gold Rush is a puzzle game with an aspect of resource management. The player assumes the role of gold miner Mandy, who is blessed with an extraordinary sense of detecting gold. This manifests itself through exclamation points when she is near the precious metal while digging through the ground of the stages. Actions including movement cause Mandy’s stamina meter to decrease, before it reaches zero the player has to gather enough gold to reach at least the first star in a money meter to progress further in the game.

To increase the money meter and by doing that, also renew his limited capacity to carry gold, the player has to return to the surface. There, additional useful items may be bought with gold in a store, like explosives and supports which can keep segments of the mine from collapsing. Down there, not only gold may be found, but other things like the Pandora boxes which cause random effects when opened, and unfriendly cave bats.
