The remote outpost on the edge of the Empire, Netrun 2000 is under attack from alien invaders, hellbent on taking over the Empire. The outpost consists of a barrier containing two gun emplacements on either side that are controlled together and fire outwards to blast any enemy that appear. The game is a single screen shooter where you move the guns in the centre of the screen, up or down to blast aliens that appear from either side of the screen over various levels.

As you blast the aliens that move around the screen, others will appear and head straight to the barrier, and when hit loses energy, and when your energy is gone then you lose one of five lives. Your guns are also able to jump forward for a brief time to clear any aliens that move up or down the barrier. To clear a level you have to destroy all the aliens on screen but occasionally an object appears on the side of the screen and if shot moves you to the next level.
