Depth Hunter: The Spearfishing Simulator is exactly what it says, a single player underwater fishing game.

There are two modes of play, Free Play and Game Play. In Free mode the player swims around shooting fish and scoring points.
Game Mode is where the real game is though. When playing in this mode the player starts in the first of the 400 square metre areas and has to accomplish a series of tasks before the next area is unlocked. This process is repeated until the player has completed all the missions in all the areas. When a mission is complete the game creates a checkpoint and autosaves so that the player can simply resume the game when they restart.
Missions are obviously fishing based, the first few missions were shoot any two fish, get two of fish A and two of fish B, shoot as many fish as possible in five minutes, find and catch a rare fish, find a treasure chest, and find five items of treasure. As each mission is completed more fish/objects are added to the game. During all missions the player must continually resurface to breathe.
The game is controlled via a keyboard/mouse combination. The W, A, S, D keys control the player's movement while the mouse aims spear gun, one button fires the gun, the other takes a photograph and the scroll wheel reels in the fish.

The game has a feature that allows the player to take pictures within the game and some missions are based on taking these pictures. There is a 'photo album' which can only be accessed from the start menu, from there the player can print their pictures or set them as their computer's wallpaper.
