The Design is a shooting game where the player simultaneously controls two circles, yellow and green, which can be freely moved in four directions around the screen. They can also shoot bullets outwards, along the line on which both circles lie.

Red squares keep popping up on the screen and moving around, occasionally creating smaller, white squares. Both big and small squares can be destroyed with the player's gun. However, if the player shoots a big square while it's red, the bullets will bounce off. The big squares temporarily turn white while releasing a smaller square, and that's when they can be destroyed.

If one of the player's circles is hit by a bounced bullet, or collides with a square, the game is over. The player can restart immediately. Power-ups occasionally appear on the screen after destroying enemies.
