NESTilt (Mar, 1988)
Un programme éducatif destiné aux plus jeunes.
While it may be a little helpful in learning arithmetic, the experience is shallow and not too interesting as an actual game.
WiiEurogamer.net (UK) (Jun 02, 2007)
Back in the early '80s, the era of Johnny Ball and his ebullient numerical evangelism, a combination of ultra-basic platforming and maths might have been enough to interest truculent youngsters but it's unlikely to have a similar effect today.
WiiIGN (Sep 06, 2007)
The entire NES Education Series is now available on the Virtual Console, because Donkey Kong Jr. Math, by itself, comprised the entire NES Education Series. Educational gaming has gotten a boost in recent years, courtesy of the very same Nintendo, will titles like Brain Age and Big Brain Academy. But the Big N's first attempt at edutainment just didn't make the grade. Save yourself a headache and don't download this dismal Donkey Kong affair – it's not worth subtracting 500 Points from your Wii Shop balance.
NESRandom Access (2005)
There really isn't much else to say about a game that does so little. It has been released on the Wii's Virtual Console in all markets except for North America, but I have no idea why anyone would buy an old OLD edutainment game and waste their precious Wii points (unless you are an EXTREME fan of Donkey Kong). Unless you see it for free, you may want to pass up the opportunity to snag this; it is only suited for children trying to learn math with the aid of an ape wearing a shirt. Take a crack at some simple math operations on paper instead -- it's just as amusing.
NESRetro Game Reviews (Nov 25, 2015)
Donkey Kong Jr. Math is an ill-advised entry in the series and the developers could have done so much more to make the gameplay interesting for kids and families. Avoid this one but if you're looking for a decent education game try The Electric Company: Word Fun! instead (1980, Intellivision).
WiiNintendo Life (Apr 19, 2007)
If you get excited by doing math puzzles then this will probably be right up your street but for true gamers this is a complete waste of Wii points. The Donkey Kong licence might tempt some people but this really isn't a proper Donkey Kong game. If you really must educate yourself, pick up Brain Training on the DS. Your money will be spent far more wisely.
NESQuesticle.net (Oct, 2011)
Why did Nintendo think this was a good idea for a game? For the love of all things sacred and true, Donkey Kong Jr. Math was one of the launch titles! Granted, it was surrounded by a number of mostly decent games (sans sports titles). Still, no one deserved this humble pie in the Christmas of ’85. Pass up this game at every opportunity. If some vengeful retro gamer throws it at you, just throw it right back
