Dragon (Sep, 1989)
You must deal with each situation in the same manner that you approach your AD&D or other FRP campaigns. But this time, you are the one making the decisions for the entire party. You'll find yourself truly concerned about each individual's well being. As the adventure continues, you'll find that tearing yourself away from CAB is the most difficult decision of all.
»Curse of the Azure Bonds« besucht durch eine fantastische Atmosphäre. »Curse of the Azure Bonds« ist etwas leichter als dessen Vorgänger »Pool of Radiance«.
Overall, CAB is an excellent RPG, much improved and polished over POR. It is good to see SSI actually improving the system rather than sitting back on their TSR licence. With a good storyline and excellent graphics CAB is recommended whatever version you have.
Power Play (Aug, 1989)
Das nenne ich einen würdigen Nachfolger zu Pool of Radiance: Curse of the Azure Bonds bietet so ziemlich alles, was sich ein Rollenspieler wünschen kann: Viel Abwechslung, tolle Missionen und ein ausgereiftes Spielprinzip zeichnen diesen Leckerbissen aus.
Your Commodore (Nov, 1989)
There are few differences between the two versions of the game except that PC hard disk owners can do away with all the disk swapping associated with a game with 8 disk sides.

In some ways, Curse of the Azure Bonds is a bit disappointing. Except for the two additional classes from the AD&D system, nothing really new has been added to Azure Bonds. The emphasis is still very much on hack-and-slash; there is no puzzle-solving at all, and opportunities for genuine role-playing remain limited. On the other hand, there is certainly potential here for adding more depth in future games.
